The Roanoke Amputee Network is a voluntary group of individuals with special needs due to amputation of a limb either by accident or illness.
We have round table discussions, films, and speakers in the coming months to aid and educate. We encourage family support, and patient support. We have expert professionals in the field of orthotics, and prosthetists give advice regarding prostheses and can answer questions regarding the different prostheses on the market to fit each individual need. The Roanoke Amputee Network has individuals available to meet with new amputees, and also individuals who may be facing amputation of a limb to give support, information, emotional support, etc.
We have some fun outings for everyone and encourage family members to participate. The meetings are enthusiastic and positive. Just remember that amputation is certainly a major lifestyle change. With love, kindness and information from professionals and friends, new amputees will find the road to “getting on with life much easier.”
